Critiques
The colours in the clouds are used in the waves as well and because of this the image has a balanced feeling to it.
However, the clouds have definite edges and soft curves while the water is made up of jagged lines and sharp colours. These differences in texture keep the image from seeming too symetrical, and provoke further examination of detail by the viewer.
The only thing that brings this image down is originality; a boat in a storm isn't exactly a fresh idea. However, the expert technique demontrated in creating this picture more than make up for that. Every aspect defines this image from others portraying the same idea.
In my opinion, the artist here has managed to capture the feeling and vision of stormy seas very effectively. Every element in this picture works very well in creating a certain atmosphere &evoking feeling in the viewer.
